 | The Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA)
Family Relations Law Specialty Board announces that Maurice 0. White
Esq. has been certified as a specialist in the field of family relations
law in Ohio. Maurice 0. White Esq. is one of 50 attorneys who met
certification requirements demonstrating a high level of competence in
the field of family relations law.
|
 | The OSBA certification program is the first Ohio-specific specialty
certification program for attorneys. The certification process provides an
objective means for attorneys to achieve a mark of excellence in a specific
field. Only those attorneys who are board certified may advertise and hold
themselves out as specialists. Ultimately, certification of attorneys as
specialists provides a means for the public to identify highly qualified
practitioners and find appropriate legal services.
|
 | To obtain certification,
applicants were required to take and pass a written examination in the
specialty field, demonstrate substantial involvement in the practice
area, fulfill enhanced educational requirements, and submit to a
rigorous peer evaluation process by attorneys and judges familiar with the
applicant and family relations law. To maintain certification, OSBA certified
specialists must file an annual report showing continued good standing, and
every four years the specialist must apply to be re-certified.
|
 | The OSBA Family Relations Law Specialty Board, the OSBA's certifying agency, is
committed to promoting and maintaining high professional standards and
ultimately improving the public perception of the legal profession.
|
 | The specialty board is accredited to certify attorneys in Family Relations Law
by the Commission on Certification of Attorneys as Specialists (CCAS). The CCAS
is appointed by the Ohio Supreme Court to evaluate programs and accredit those
programs, which meet the minimum standards required under Court rules. Maurice
0. White Esq. has shown a similar commitment to excellence by pursuing the
certified specialist mark of distinction.
